At last, a simple explanation that focuses on the message, not the music or the author or something other than the message. Thanks.

Thanks for this very concise and clear video. Your explanation on how things are connected between different layers - and, most importantly, how to deal with that - was great. Nice job!

This has been the best video I have watched on layers, I am a newbie at sketch up. I have a wood shop that is really packed with tools and cabinets a table saw, miter saw Lathe, Router Table, Bandsaw, Planner Jointer, a dust collection system, a scroll saw, a welding table. All in a 19 x 19 room oh and a Kreg ACS system. I am modeling my shop with sketch up to try to figure out a better layout for the tools. 😁🛫

Many thanks. You have answered so many of the questions I had in one short tutorial. Will be watching the rest with real interest.

Thanks Mr. Tall bridgeguy. In all the layers Tutorial I watch (Including Sketchup layers basic Tutorial), Only your video is the one I understand most. Because of your video, It is crystal clear to me how to create layer. Its been well said, and you explained it very well and easy to understand. Thank you again Mr. Tall.

Perfect explanation! Really needed this for my shed project to divide the project into different layers (concrete base, walls, roof etc.)

What if I kept doing a project all on the same layer, say a blueprint for a main level on a house... Then I started going 3-dimensional, made a ceiling and a floor for the 2nd story... How would I be able to make that 2nd story a separate group, or layer? Is it too late for me to do that? Because I didn't know how to make layers, so I just made a large 2 story building, doorways and all (not really intricate, but it's taken me, a beginner, a very long time to do).... how would I be able to make them separate layers, or groups so I can hide the second floor and see only the bottom?

So Clear; Thanks. The instructions on the sketchup official instructions are wrong. I was struggling to work this out.
