Only in this scene does it hit me; she speaks to him and treats him as an equal; no condescension, no pedantry, no down talking and no over hyping. She gets him and there's a respect there.

I absolutely adore Cate Blanchett! Her and Jackson worked so well together in bringing Galadriel to life and it really makes me wonder how much time and effort she dedicated to reading the books and finding that perfect medium in her portrayal.

Now that I've watched 5 episodes of RoP it's just mindblowing how good this trilogy is. I loved it the first time I saw it 20 years ago, and now it shines even brighter. Cate Blanchett's Galadriel is absolute ethereal beauty!

when Lady Galadriel says " farewell we shall not meet again Elessar" is such a touching moment. she has seen many futures but she believes in Aragorn when he doubts himself. that to him must have been such an emotional boost!

Left a mark this acting and casting and this actress. She was terrific as Galadriel. Beauty, poise, grace but yet you could feel that she is insanely powerful. Her scene with Frodo where she transforms gave me spooks.

Love how much you can take from this scene
1) she is technically his grandmother in law he has been betrothed to Arwen for nearly 60 years but not yet been properly married to her as of yet
2) Aragorn bears the Ring of Barahir the ring once belonged to her brother Finrod Felagund who gave his life to defend a descendent of the man he gave that ring to as a promise of good faith between elves and men the ring was eventually given king to king father to son of the royal lineage of The kingdom of Arnor and Numenor who is also the rightful heir to Gondor all the way to Aragorn it is one of the oldest known artifacts in middle earth dating to the first age
3)you can tell Galadriel sees what Arwen sees within Aragorn she knows that he is very noble and wise and kind yet she also knows he is afraid of his destiny one that he denies and does not want but unlike Elrond who is married to her daughter funnily enough she does not fear there union she knows the power of love and if Arwen chooses to stay in middle earth then so she shall
4) she truly sees how noble and selfless he is when he himself wishes for Arwen to leave with her people so that she may live amongst them that’s how much he loves her Galadriel sees this and in her own subtle way counters him by pointing out the evening star Arwens gift showing that she loves him just as equally and that it will be her choice to leave not Aragorns or her fathers it’s in a subtle way pushing Aragorn to his destiny while confirming there love for each other
5)I love the subtle touch she gives to his cheek at the end when she says they will not meet again it’s a very sad but also understandable circumstance the ages of the Elves are over there power is diminished and they have done all they can do in middle earth but that does not mean they will not miss it and the people within it in this way she says her fondest farewell not only to Aragorn but to the race of men in there entirety the kings that came before Aragorn that she knew and all the kings that will come after him that she will not witness and she wishes him all her goodwill in the process
God I love this world and these films that brought it to life…..

Rewatching this scene, I’m genuinely moved… can’t deny feeling raw emotion & awe at Cate Blanchette’s deeply thoughtful intentionality in seemingly effortlessly conveying Galadriel’s unique characteristics: etherial, graceful & ancient; exuding an overwhelming genuine charisma & warmth, yet commanding unparalleled wisdom and power.

In contrast, RoP Galadriel showcases a character with the likability, facial appearance and intelligence of an evil rodent.

It's after this scene (in the films) that Aragorn finally seems to have decided to go to Minas Tirith. They go to Amon Hen, and there he tells a dying Boromir he will save his people, and he lets Frodo go. He made the choice Galadriel said lay before him.

It bothers me how the music is so perfect every second in this entire scene and how well it blends with the cinematography and yet no one notices... :(
