I liked your list and how elaborate you were with your thoughts about them. The way you laid out The Lost Sons of Omaha makes me inclined to want to pick it up and read it, because there clearly is a political divide in the US as far as picking sides and wanting to do away with gray areas is concerned. I am familiar with James Lee Burke, but have never read any of his books. I recognize that he has a great presence among mystery writers, though, but I can see where his works may have fizzled. I do like the concept, though, and would not dismiss myself from picking it up. I recognize Bright Young Women, because a book club that I am following chose to read that book. I get where you stand when it comes to the fact that there is no such thing as a "cozy crime mystery, " because there is always a sense of intensity, but it does seem to attract people and I have read a few of them myself and will admit that I did enjoy them. I guess it is playing with the imagined side of fiction where anyone can play the role of a detective and solve a mystery. It is like where GK Chesterton's Father Brown is a priest that takes on the role of a detective, which is where this way of thinking seems to originate. The cover of I Know Who You Are reminds me a lot of the cover for American Predator, which I read back in 2020 for the Booktube Prize. I like where all of the nominees, even if they did not win, are taken into account. Your opinion is almost bound to be at least a little bit different from the committee that judges book awards. Thank you for sharing! -Josh
