Options is taught to be purchased as a quantity of 100 . Does IBKR allow you trade whatever quantity you want ?

Hey thanks for this. When you reach the order summary there are numbers next to initial margin and maintenance margin values. Where do these come from? is IBKR making you take a margin loan for each sale or is it from cash in your account?

hi andrew, I have a question that maybe you can help me with. I sold a covered call for some amd shares i have. My average for the shares are 145, for some context. When I navigate to the analysis section on the call I sold, it says that my break even point would be 156.11. How does that even make sense if my average is 145 ? Right now i’m just ignoring that but if you have any insight on how that’s calculated or if it means anything i’d appreciate it.
