Just the line “if they can’t catch me they can’t kill me” delivered like a child telling their parent something trivial, it really cements the horror of the institution, the concept that a very young kid is formulating their plan to prevent their death for as long as possible, the audience aware they won’t make it out alive. Spectacular writing and performance.
