There are also many valuable things that are easy to attain. Often you already have many. Practice gratitude.

Neglecting values that you already have is the path to misery. Breathing, legs, hands, fingers, eyes, ears, father, mother, sibling, and more. Look inside

“It isn’t valuable, it was just difficult to get”
I really like that. Helps put things in perspective and makes you realise just cos you didn’t get what you were hoping for doesn’t mean you won’t be happy in life.

More of us should practice gratitude and be thankful for the valuable things we already have in our lives

This is actually insightful, meaningful, and something that many people probably need to hear. Right here at this point in my life, I needed to hear it. Thank you.

The best thing I learned from my late grandmother was to make a distinction between objects and people. People are not things. What is valuable is our humanity. People ought to not treat each other as mere objects, but instead as invaluable subjects, all of whom need to work together and care for one another. My mother has a slightly different view, but of course I pay no heed to neglect of my grandmother's view. 😂

Just happened to be thinking about this this morning over coffee. I am someone who’s decided to take things easy and forgo “the grind” to achieve status, greatness, etc. Will I be getting the car, the watch, the monthly trips to Europe, the girls, the power and influence? No. But I will be getting my happiness, my family, my own sense of satisfaction, and my peace. That’s far more valuable to me than anything I can buy.

I think we’re all in very different journeys. Some want those things and work hard and get them . I have found the harder I work the less I get - nothing seemed to work out the way I wanted my life to go, yet when I surrender and let the flow of life take hold it opens many door and takes me to places in the almost opposite direction . I read a great book called the surrender experiment and it changed the way I see it all . The world has existed for billions of years it’s evolved re grown and had no problem doing it on its own . I surrender now and life unfolds beautifully.

I figured this one out when I lost everything that meant anything to me. Sometimes, you don’t know what you have until you’ve destroyed it all yourself

This is a great framework for focusing on the important things. Nicely done.

Thanks Chris, think you just hit a massive nail on the head and appreciate you working through and articulating observations. From those of us that can’t muster the energy to do the same thing right now, we appreciate :)

Be gracious for what you have. Put yourself in discomfort constantly.
