Funny, I did a wiring job last night on my wife's Explorer and ran out of terminals... At least my good quality terminals. I had to settle for a less quality terminal for the last one. Thankfully the terminals are inside of the console and won't come across moisture or movement. I was searching Amazon and just purchased a set of female/male spade terminals. I figured I'd hit up YouTube and do a quick search and of course came across "Friday Fool, I Need This Tool" Glad you suggest them, because I'm waiting on my order to arrive. Good to know these are quality.

UPDATE: Great quality terminals and I'd suggest these in every toolbox. I do wish they were NOT made in China for the price. the price is on par with some USA made terminals. But it's all good. Not too many things made in the Land of the Free these days.

The heat shrink has adhesive that melts when you heat it and it gives a waterproof connection. You should also try adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.

I bet no one noticed the the dimple left by the crimp disappeared after the shrinking. I heard a guy in the part store say they suck because of the "hole" it left. Keep these videos coming Kyle. This was a simple one most overlook. Nothing finishes a build better than clean wiring.

I've used Harbor Freights Storehouse© brand heat shrink butt connectors, heat shrink ring connectors, and heat shrink Spade connectors, and they're all really excellent at shrinking and sealing for a good tight connection... I also use their marine grade shrink tubing and it's like you say Kyle... it fuses itself to the connection and the wire.. good stuff!

I use these, or non insulated terminals with heat shrink pretty much exclusively. They also make the butt connectors in conversion sizes. So red-to-blue, blue-to-yellow, etc. Which is nice for something like running a 14g wire and splitting it into 2 16g wires for lights or something.

sup MrKvoss. Brilliant tools today!! I've worked with this type of connectors for a while now, and other type as well. It has heat wrap on, and some soldering inside. So when you heat it, the soldering actually melts while the heat wrap shrinks. See if you can check them out to. You can never have enough tools!

Great video. I have been using Wirefy stuff for awhile now and it is the best. I also have their ratcheting crimping tool and again, nothing but the best. When I buy, I buy their 540 pack of connectors. They also sell individual bulk connectors. They come in a tub of 150 wire connectors. The old saying is true, you get what you pay for. If you want the best you need to pay for it.

I also uses the connectors without insulation and then sleeve a piece of adhesive heat shrink (black), I enjoy using the stuff from Hellerman or Raychem.

I love these. I work on all kinds of things and these come in real handy. I just reworded an 05' Sportster with them and have had no issues at all.

These are great, but the crimp free ones with solder built in where u just slide over and heat and shrink are amazing if u ask me. They solder and heat shrink at same time.

I have used them in 4-5 years used them at my job and I have been very happy to use them since

I think they are the best connector to use on wiring. The only thing you have to watch out for is the type of crimper you use. The connectors are easily cut with the non insulated spot on the crimper that everyone uses. I always find them on vehicles with the end all split open from when they shrunk them and it had a cut in the insulation. I always use the ratcheting crimper with the insulated crimper dies in it for that reason. Great Friday as always DO WORK

Yes! The normal automotive grade one's are absolutely not worth it.

But...you can't beat the quality of the better marine grade terminals like those made by Anchor. Tinned for corrosion resistance, longer crimp 'grabbing' crimp area than the cheap ones, better water tight melting adhesive in the shrink wrap, and chemical resistance . Terrific anti-vibration and moisture protection - I use nothing else on my commercial trucks.

I bought the wirefy heat shrink connectors. They are not very good.
The heat shrink is soft an gets cut by the crimping pliers if you crimp too hard.
If you crimp light enough to not punching the heat shrink then they do not hold up under tension.
I also bought some Powerfist connectors from Princess Auto. You can apply a full crimp to these and the heat shrink does not puncture.

I bought this kit about 3 weeks ago. Love the quality. Love how tight the heat shrink gets. I use a Iwiss ratcheting crimping tool for easy, clean, perfect crimps every time. Then I use regular black heat shrink over the top for appearance.

Word of caution. On the eyelet terminals, I had the cut back just a bit of the heat shrink to clear a nut I was using on my starter so that I wasn't pinching heat shrink instead of metal.

Good tip, I've used them and bulk shrink tubing for years, great stuff.

I think you're right about the adhesive lining on the inside of the heat shrink on those connectors

Good Friday, fool! I've never seen connectors with the heat shrink built into it before. Nice product and great video. Thanks, Mr. Voss! 🙌

You need the matching Wirefy ratcheting crimp pliers with the terminal set...
