Sony WH-1000XM4 How to Turn ON & OFF Noise Cancelling

Simple step by step guide on how to turn the noise cancelling feature of your Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones ON and then OFF. This feature is superb and works every time but sometimes you rather save battery and not use it, I will show you how to deactivate it.

Happy 2022 you and your family. I own the Xm4 and the app keeps turning on “speak-to-chat” even though I keep turning it off. Is there an issue and solution you may know? Thanks

1. Default mode [whenever you turn on the XM4 headset] = "Ambient Sound Control" on set to Noise Cancellation.
2. "Ambient Sound Control" set to 20 but can be customized to "Wind/1 to 20."
3. "Ambient Sound Control" and "Noise Cancellation" off. The sound is terrible and muffled.

Serious question. I just got my Sony xm4
When sitting next to a fan and using noise cancellation and calling i get wind noise which doesn't happen when noise cancellation is disabled and it's like I'm hearing my surroundings through my mic.
When calling i get a lot of noise from outside like if i can hear the wind noise from the mic which doesn't happen when I'm not calling. I can hear my voice like a double voice when i activate inbuilt Alexa.
Is this happening with you too? Should I replace my headphones as i have 6 days left to do it.

How do you know the phones are on? There's no light after you power them up!

You also have to turn off ambient sound control in the app

Ap works to turn off the feature that stops the headphones when talkin or hearing a loud noise. YEA It's fixed!

I need help!!!

Whenever I use the headphones at the gym, while I’m listening to my music. I hear a beep sound. Whenever I hear it, the noice cancelation turns off. It beeps again, and it turns on. It does that all the time. It doesn’t beep right away. It’s beeps several minutes. Why is that? PLEASE HELP!!!!
