How we got here:

2013:
We both started learning Chinese in Chengdu, Sichuan province (China). Phil got a degree in Chinese from Sichuan University. Luke went the self-study route.
We both struggled a lot for the first year, wasting thousands of hours and thousands of dollars getting nowhere.
2014:
We both almost quit, until we discovered the magic of ‘comprehensible input’. We used proven memory techniques to achieve advanced literacy in a few months, and began immersing in Chinese TV, movies, books, comics, and podcasts.
2015:
Within a year, we went from failures, to passing the highest level Chinese exam at the time (the HSK 6), and achieved B2 spoken fluency. We did this learning part time, while it should take a FULL TIME learner at least twice as long (that works out to at least 4x faster).
We became tired of everyone we knew falling into the same traps we did, struggling needlessly. We decided to share what we knew with the local community in Chengdu.
2016-2018:
We started Mandarin Blueprint. We spent 100s of hours teaching what we knew in live and online seminars, gradually developing our own curriculum.
2019-2024: We officially launched our online video curriculum, and continually improved and perfected the content, community, and various supplementary courses.
TODAY: Our paid membership Mandarin Blueprint Pro is taking the Mandarin-learning world by storm, making Chinese simple and rewarding for thousands of learners.

i use some chinese characters instead of english words when messaging online and that's actually very good esp when you try to recall what's the pinyin of the needed character and then one has to pick the needed character. i want to improve my ability to remember the tones of chinese characters but alas i cant make this process "funny" like using chinese character among english words in my messages

I start with the language Malay and then English. The last one is Arabic.

Honestly just talk with someone who knows Chinese everyday for at least 30 mins and you will be understood by native speakers in no time (after learning the basics)

This is the way most people study languages...? I'm so confused. Rapid? Memorize 1500 words and 1000 characters BEFORE you start trying to communicate? All you did is say memorize words and practice the 4 skills. This is standard.

I wonder if you can do the same thing with math. But instead of pronunciations you focus with formulas and exercises.

I don't wanna learn how to write Chinese and how to read Chinese for now ..at first I wanna learn how to speak and understand Chinese .. and we and our brain are not different ok so even we are not reading or writing a language but we can still learn to speak and understand it . And those who are studying harder they can learn language fastly too ok .. any one can learn ok those who are learning many house they can be smart too ok .. those who learn they do listen and speak it too and can write and read too if they wanna learn and have learn this
