What is Niall's talking about? There are no "expert" fact checkers. People working in a given area are more of an expert in that area than any fact checker - ergo why community notes makes the most sense as long as those notes are available for all the community and not a select group anointed as the arbiters of truth.

11:38 fb is trash anymore. Of 100 posts on my feed 50% of the posts were from ppl/pages/groups i dont know or didnt follow, 25% were ads and the last 25% were actually ppl i know or groups i followed. Of the 400+ friends i have, i see posts from maybea dozen if them ... Zuck better do something otherwise FB will be abandoned to the ads that're only being viewed by bots.

Both are right. There really is no such thing as "pristine" information, never was, never will be. Being as that is unarguably the case, I stand in favor of truly free expression from all points of view. It is YOUR individual right and responsibility to ascertain which information holds the greatest value. You cannot legislate consumers of information to make smart or dumb decisions on what they deem factual or not, that is why only a well-educated population can prosper in a free society. The price is actually fairly steep.
