I'm still confused with "ich" sound. The way you said it like there was s sound at the end (ihs). But my friend speaks high german, the way he says without S. He was lived in east german when he was child. Does this mean, high german in east different than west?

it's funny you call A, O, U bright and I and E dark vowels. in Irish we call them broad and slender respectively. I have a little synaesthesia (I associate letters with colours) and I and E seem like they should be the "bright" ones to me. Nennst sie die hellen und dunklen Vokale auf Deutsch? Die beiden Gruppen von Vokalen sind mehr wichtig für Buchstabierung auf Irisch deshalb habe ich noch nie davon auf Deutsch erfahren

Some say say where the sh sound some say say like a cat hissing. Some say it Mil, -ch like the ch in (much) in english
