Water Tower Demolition

Hallandale Beach retired the iconic water tower at Peter Bluesten Park on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. As dawn broke Thursday, the sun was setting on the 62-year-old water. Standing guard since 1951, the water tower has been a landmark for hundreds of parents and children for six decades. The 200,000-gallon tank was retired after it was no longer needed to supply water and water pressure to residents east of the FEC Railway tracks.
