A Simple Communion with God | Abiding in Christ

In this episode, I go hiking at Blue Jay Point, a section of the Mountains to Sea Trail near Raleigh NC. On this beautiful fall day, I am seeking a place of solitude out in nature, where I can have simple communion with God.

During the last meal that Jesus shared with his disciples, he instructed them to meet often, breaking bread and drinking from the cup together, as a remembrance of what he had done for them in establishing the new covenant between God and his people.

And so the early church began in a simple way:
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved".

And so today, on this peaceful autumn day, I am seeking solitude in the beauty of this forest trail, where I can commune with God, and abide in him.

Lord, as I take this bread, I remember what you did for us on the cross… that out of love, you made a way for us to be reconciled to the Father, by paying a debt that we could never pay.

And as I drink the wine, I remember that it was because of his innocent blood, shed on the cross, that now spares us, and makes eternal life a reality.

Every time we take communion, receiving the bread and the wine, we are proclaiming the gospel… that Jesus died for us, was buried, and was raised to new life, and that Jesus will return again in the future. And that every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus is Lord.

Am I the only one that gets emotional during communion? Just remembering what he did on the cross for me, am undeserving sinner. I love you Yeshua 😭
