Sorry for the shitty audio quality and dubious camera angles, only had my phone to do this and no other equipment :]

Currently 21, I did the same thing as you back in the day. You will absolutely regret it ❤

No bullshit, no adds, straight to the point, and overall pleasant. It made me feel like I was watching old YouTube -- bang on.

Not editing the fumbling of words is probably the best part about this, a very human experience awesome vid man

If your car is old enough to share a drink with you at the pub, I'd say a boot full of emergency equipment is a bright idea.

This is what being an enthusiast is all about brother. Fun > Reliability

really refreshing to watch something this genuine on youtube. Its like a breath of fresh air compared to all the high value production, over edited videos and thumbnails who are desperate in trying to grab your attention.

I got WRX when i was 19, 11 months later, I traded it in to get the STI as a 20 yrs old. I'm now currently 23, with my STI paid off, and honestly I have no regrets except that I should've gotten an STI in the first place! Money will come back, but memories in your 20's with friends going to car shows are forever!

Well I'm 30 but I didn't know anything about cars and got obsessed with rotary engines and bought a barely running 2004 Mazda RX8 and drove the hell out of it. Learned how to work on cars and learned how to drive a manual transmission. I'm currently pulling out the motor and I'm rebuilding it myself. Best decision I've ever made, I love every second of driving that car. Boxer engines are my second favorite engine design after rotaries, and they both have a somewhat undeserved reputation as "unreliable" engines, so I feel kinship with Subarus when I see them lol. Plus that rally legacy will always be a part of the WRX.

Holyshit, I haven't had fun watching such a relaxing and cool video, no bs background music while somebody talking (only birds chiming), and pure sound of this guy's understandable pain, you sir are an absolute favorite in terms of watching youtube right now. keep it up ♥

21 years old, no car yet. I'll come back here in about 5 years and post what's changed

Did the exact same thing. Over spring break of my college freshman year I ran off without anyone knowing and bought a GR wrx hatchback that was in shambles, I ended up buying another hatch later on cause of it. Your car sounds healthy, and you've thought things through more than i did. You're already doing great. Keep it up

Hello mate, 20 years old and just bought a 1999 uk turbo prodrive. Funny watching this as I had similar feelings. Despite what you hear, these cars can be relatively bulletproof so long as you keep up with maintenance and don’t go sticking eBay bits on it. Enjoy it, they don’t make cars like this anymore and you’ll look back and adore the fact you owned one. Much love from Portsmouth 🙌.

I’m so glad I watched this video lmfao, brought me back to old YouTube, no gimmicks or playing up, just pure conversation. You seem like such a chill and relatable dude, bought an 89’ Camaro last year and fucking love it!

Congrads on the car at 19 your living the dream haha, The WRX does suffer from head gasket issues more than the STI, however i recommend putting a Cosworth head gasket on it and it will go forever. Forester STI owner for 7 years love it.

You're doing good, man.
And worry not. The stupid does not rub off with time.

I'm 34 and bought an Audi TT 225 mk1 that's turning 25 years old this year, instead of something more recent and reliable, and here we are.

Loving it.

I hope this one gives you more satisfaction than headaches.

Haha man. I’m almost 19 and I just purchased a 2007 wrx wagon a week ago. I still haven’t been able to drive it because of the issues I purchased it with. Almost half the price of the vehicle I have had to put into it just to be able to drive it. Hopefully in a week and with my wallet completely Drained. I should be left with a big smile on my face Driving my little wagon all over the gravel roads. Hopefully your Subaru treats you as good as you treat it! Best of luck to you man!
