Being an italian myself I can tell you that is not the real carbonara (no creamy /milk based sauce should be added) the real carbonara is made with raw eggs and parmigiano cheese.

If only excellent italian restaurants like that were in every city, but not everyone lives in NYC or other major cities. How I would love to dine in such a place. Unfortunately, many cities, or most cities have places like Olive Garden which is a slap across the fave of authentic italian cuisine.

Very nicely made & explained!
Please note there is no cream in a real carbonara just as there is no coco in an original tiramisu.

I don't think I could eat that much even if I had been fasting for 30 days lol

It is considered a bit rude (the oil on bread thing)

Nicely filmed video! I LOVE Italian food! My love trying all kinds of cuisine. I'm very openminded & will try food from every country & region in this world. My favorite cuisines are TAII - like Thai - like the word, "Thai" but "TAII" acronym for Thai, American, Indian, & Italian food - TAII. This video is making me hungry. Many of the dishes in this video look good! Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week!

The dishes are similar to Italian ones, just not the same things.
The "primi" looked least Italian than the rest...
And you normally eat bread through all the meal and not really dip it in oil as a starter...

These guys don't know what they're talking about; If you really want a real taste of Italian Dining, go to Olive Garden.... I kid...I kid.

The Food Network can’t even tell you how a Carbonara is made? There is no cream or milk products in it unless you’re in America, and then it’s probably an Alfredo with peas and ham added.
I had higher expectations from you Food Network, shame!

Traditional carbonara is not served with pancetta. It’s served with guanciale.

La scarpetta is not related to the bread and oil but to soak up the rests from the pasta. Italians DO NOT do salads well.

Yikes, if this is an example of this 'Food Network' I want no part of it, what a mess.

What a bunch of bullshit. In Italy bread is NEVER dipped in olive oil. Bread is to accompany dishes and to polish the plate after having eaten. So much for the "italian-ness" of this video.
