Poonch Attack: Indian Army Soldier Killed In Heavy Gunfight In Jammu And Kashmir’s Poonch

Poonch Attack: An Indian Army soldier was killed as troops thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants from across the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, early Tuesday morning. According to Army PRO Lt Colonel Suneel Bartwal, alert troops engaged the infiltrating terrorists in a heavy gunfight in the Battal Sector. The injured soldier was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident follows a surge in militant activities in Jammu, with frequent attacks on security forces and civilians over the past three months.
