A short introduction to the new 4 inch display tinySA Ultra
Main differences with the 2.8 inch display tinySA are:
- Built-in LNA
- Resolution filters from 200Hz to 850kHz
- No separate high mode but continuous scanning up to 800MHz or, with Ultra mode enabled, to above 6GHz
- Standard SD card slot and headphone output
Also the signal generator has more options, both in modulation and output frequencies.

I wanted to say this has been the most amazing purchase I’ve made in a long time. I use it for one purpose only, to identify noise in the 518 to 560Mhz range for our In-Ear Wireless Monitor System. It works great, and our musical performance is so stress free now!

Thank you!!!!

Received mine two days ago. It's great. I first had the TinySA with the small screen. I knew the bigger screen was a selling point for me. What a great piece of test equipment at a very reasonable price. I first used my SA as a calibrated field strength meter. I set up a remote antenna 100 feet away from my car, ran coax to the car and hooked it up to the SA. I then keyed with radio with 5 watts out and got a reading on the SA. Next I tried a second mobile antenna and compared the two readings. My one 40 meter antenna was 6 db better than the first one. Just one of many uses for the TInySA and TinySA Ultra.

Can it measure channel power, and/or adjacent channel power?

I'm glad for the new Tiny SA Ultra. I have a couple of concerns. The first is that I had trouble from my bank when ordering anything from China. The second, which is something I don't quite understand, is the 405 points. Can you suggest how to order and explain about the 405 display points. Thanks

Nice work. If it is not too expensive, I will review the TinySA on my german YouTube Channel again.

That's a nice upgrade to the original TinySA. I assume that the SDCard is mend for storing screen shots and/or configurations?

Think I know what I'm going to give my self for Sinterklaas this year :-)

Hey, to all those comments:
You get mostly a look on a wide spectrum
and just have to pay a price like a set of good SMA cables !?
Stop complaining!

Hello, I bought a tinysa Ultra. Love the product. I also work for a company that would like to buy in some what bulk.. 25-50 to start however, there are some software/firmware we would like to see changed before committing to buying more. Is this something you would be interested in discussing more?

How can I factory reset the firmware? After making some changes to the settings and saving them to load on startup, my TinySA Ultra locks up after booting and is unresponsive and I can't access the menu. It is also inaccessible when connected to my PC, though it can occasionally connect to the app after hanging for a while, but I can't pull screen images from it or functionally push control settings or anything. Thanks.

Where is the best place to buy the TinySA Ultra? There are a lot of fake ones out there.

Hello Erik, I recently purchased a TinySa Ultra and its firmware version is current as of February 2024: TinySA4_v1.4-156-g4eb315d . I have watched about 3/4 of the videos listed on the TinySA web site. I cannot get the instrument to scan frequencies above 800 MHz. How can I get the device to scan up to (hopefully) 2.4 GHz? When I select "Measure" from the main menu and select "More" and check on "FM" it askes for the center frequency and then the "modulation frequency 50 Hz to 20 KHZ" then "frequency deviation 3 - 500 kHz." What do these mean and what values should I select to (for example) monitor North American FM railroad frequencies 160 - 162 MHz? The same happens when I check on "AM" except that the modulation frequency is 500 hz to 10 kHz. In that latter case, what frequency should I select? I have a Canadian Basic with Honours ham radio license. Sincerely, Ian Douglas VE6IWD
