The thing that kills me, is Trump is not really a traditional conservative. He is a Neo national Christian, which goes against a lot that he is talking about. He wants government oversight in things that should never be in government hands.

I think I’m in the same place as you. Just want to add that both sides are big on import tariffs right now. That is in fact a tax on Americans, and Kamala is too cute by half when she called it ‘Trumps Sales Tax’ when Biden-Harris has be heavy on tariffs as well.

I'm going to sound like a super woke socialist here but, as a rich white male Dave is inherently insulated from many of the negative effects of a Conservative government.
I'd love for the big disagreements to be what the top marginal tax rate should be. But they aren't. There's a significant chunk of the country that doesn't care to make things better for everyone but will cheer on making it worse for everyone who isn't them.
The Republican Presidential and Vice Presidential candidate are spreading conspiracies about people eating dogs and cats for Gods sake.
