I'm sorry but… At this point, it's become a beloved tradition.

Aggie football and the band have already distinguished it! SO, why don't we keep the song but distance it from Kanye by continuing to differentiate and characterize it as more of an Aggie original! An easy, manageable, & moderate solution. Modify, remix, eliminate the lyrics entirely, create a new chant or lyrics, have a notable Aggie voice or sports broadcaster, like Dave South, record the original or new lyrics etc.

The publics go-to reaction and response are SO ANNOYING! The public demonstrates the same patterns over and over again when any perceived trangression has been called out. First, the public reacts with an offended outcry and siding with one of two viewpoints. Next, the public responds by generating one solution per party. One party is mostly silent, oppositional and entrenched, and continues or guards tradition or the status quo. The other demanding party is mostly boldly opinionated & boisterous demanding and aggressively asserts their ideals, demonstrates shock & horror to any opposition, and attacks and insults anyone that doesn't entirely agree with the viewpoint and new direction. The limited “either or” choices created by two extreme ends of an ideology spectrum that demand that we choose one of the two options is narrow-minded, unproductive, inefficient, stupid, and stunted convention and method.

Our current profane and racially slurred team entrance song (Power/Kanye W-google the lyrics) at Kyle Field appears to be a questionable choice at best. Which of these highly valued ideals do the hurtful, shameful and dirty lyrics best represent? Should Texas A&M not strive to be part of the solution and not the problem? Is A&M really serious about "Leading The Way"? Or not? This ain't rocket science folks.

What IS the scheme/intent/strategy for selecting an entrance tune which is laced with profanity plus numerous racial slurs?
Or was this just an oversight?
Its time for A&M to correct this regardless.
