I'm halfway through Mixing Engineers Handbook. I think it's fantastic. I'm very new to the world of audio (about 1 year of self-study). I've honestly found such a passion for it. I can sit down and read and study it and enjoy it for hours which I've rarely found elsewhere. I am thinking of expanding my reading and I think these are the next 4 books I'll look at. Only problem is they can be quite expensive so might be a good idea to look into getting a kindle. Love the channel dude. Keep it up!

I've been making music for 8 years on my computer...I like to think I've gotten pretty alright at mixing and filling out the sound in my tracks without any formal education...which is why I want to one day get a job doing it since it's something I enjoy doing in general. Getting things tto sound a certain way or come through clearer or in different ways is pretty satisfying...

I've been a musician since 1960 first in vocal lesson ( for only fourth grade), although join the school band in fifth grade thru high school with Ralph Smith as Music Master Instructor, then pick up guitar (same model hollow body behind you but it had a PAF black single pickup and which was my grandpa's instrument back then). Older brother taught me "Peter Gun on E string and the rest of my skills is history. I had the opportunity to be taught live sound for working with Steve Hernandez Jr from around 1971 thru 1987 give or take some years. Later on got a book for Sound Engineers for around $99.00 bought by my last ex. {Thank you so much DeClora, for the gift and so much more}.
okay, so your lessons and explanations are so greatly appreciated and thank you for this wealth of information. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Your channel, Kyle, greater clarity, simplicity and authority than those of the Big Names. Best of health, soldier. The way your personal books are clearly well used gave me a good feeling. Nothing like knowing to make better choices.

Great video/channel. Just found it. If you haven't yet discovered it, another book worthy of a place on your shelf is Mike Stavrou's "Mixing With Your Mind".

Concise and helpful video !👍 I was looking into The Mixing Engineers Handbook and Modern Recording Techniques but I worry about investing in literature that could possibly be outdated now or soon, any chance of that with these ?

Which one would you recommend for absolute beginner ? I don't know how to play any instruments and I am currently learning music theory and my daw REAPER, I wish to make electronic music specially trap house, chill step, jungle terror kind of stuff .
I struggle with finishing my song ideas ... And the composition part overall, mixing is a very different thing .

I suspect it's going to take a while to get through these books. Thanks for entertaining me far beyond the video.
