My first basketball game I ever watched was the Chicago Bulls vs Boston Celtics. It just happened to be Derrick Rose’s playoff debut. He was the reason I became a bulls fan and the very reason I ever picked up a basketball in the middle of nowhere Ohio. People say all the time they wanted to be “like Mike”. I just wanted to be “like Drose”. I got every shoe he released growing up. I copied his free throw routine that I still use to this day. Even tried to dribble and finish like him. Basketball is now an everyday occurrence in my life. And that is all thanks to watching Drose. So to Derrick, thank you for letting this once 8 year old boy live through you. I’ve learned determination, will-power, encouragement, leadership, and so much more from you. I’m 22 now, and today I finally say goodbye to my childhood.

Man i wish derrick rose never got injured in that philly series. That was our year i believe. I just wish i had the opportunity to watch him in person. I wish i did.
Now this team was built differently, with rose as the guy, deng as his number 2, and a 3rd amd 4th in noah & boozer. We had a great coach that brought defense, gritty type of style in tibs. What we needed was to stay healthy and maybe a go to 6th man. But if Rose never got injured then that was our year.

I was fortunate i got to see rose in December of 2010 against clippers in chicago. Rose missed a free throw to send to ot. Lol. Great game great fun

Tbh with Rose the thing I remember most was where I was when he got traded to the Knicks, I remember it was after camp and I was at the after care camp thing and then saw the news on espn

The 1st thing I do when I do a Derrick Rose Bulls rebuild is fire Tom Thibodeaux. Rose had zero business being in that game. That Bull team was underrated if they would’ve gotten a better SG ( Kyle was solid) they could made it to the finals & won. Only if they would’ve gotten both Jimmy & Nate sooner aswell.
