The First Chords you Need to Learn on Ukulele & Why

Did you know that many pop songs actually use the same four chords? In this lesson I will be teaching you your first four chords on the ukulele in preparation for playing 100s of songs.

I will guide you step by step on how to play each chord and provide exercises that you can practice until confident. You will also learn how to read chords (chord diagrams).

I'm a stay-at-home mom and picked up a ukulele for my birthday this year. I have a 6yr old and 4yr old and already they are actively involved in my musical journey, which is the ultimate goal, to introduce them to music. Learning to play simple rhythm is really helpful. Thank you for your videos.

This is really great for a beginner like me. Really basic which is what I need. Still have trouble getting the muscle memory in my fingers for chord changes when trying to get to G.

I am finding this very helpful with learning the chord transitions - thank you. However, I'm getting lost with the complex strumming (at about 8m20s), it advances at too quick a pace for this complete beginner. I've slowed down the video and watched multiple times, but it's not helping. I would have preferred the strumming as a separate lesson to the chords. I do appreciate you teaching those chords so well though! Thanks. :)
