Absolutely brilliant video, Jay! Thank You! Finally - someone explaining all this stuff in plain English, in a calm soothing voice, no neon FX and Hip Hop, as on some of the others I've watched..

And I followed you step by step, and it's perfect - I'm where I should be! MAMP Pro 6 has a couple of small differences but nothing I couldnt handle...

However, I'm a bit confused as to "what next!" 3 years ago, I bought a website template, via my domain server provider, because it had this really cool "motion" effect. £ years later, and I'm STILL trying to work out how to install this template, where to put it, and how to get this 'slider' effect to work! It's become a bit of a 'cause celebre' - I:m determined ot do this myself, as I don't really have the budget to pay someone to do it for me.

But. being a musician, not a 'tekkie, ' I quickly became really confused - so now this template in 'online' on my Domain Host's website, and it's also here at home.

The video above is wonderful, but it leaves me 'mid-stride, ' in that it doesn't go on to describe and demonstrate HOW we go about building our website? Should we do it using Wordpress via MAMP, or Wordpress via my Domain Host, or should I use soemthign like Adobe's Dreamweaver?

I just tried opening this theme (called magic.sqi) and all I got was a pile of code - it didnt give me the option to 'view' via for example, HTML.

I will plough on, as have got further thanks to you than at any point over the last 3 years! But if you DO have a "part 2" tutorial that covers the issues I've outlined, could you let me know?

Hi! Fantastic video, thank you! However, I have a problem - I followed this tutorial and it worked perfectly, but I can't make it work again once I closed the program. I had it running on the local site, then when I launched MAMP again a few hours later and the "servers" came on line, it keeps defaulting to the main remote site that's actually on the internet, rather than just letting me access the local version on my Mac. Does anyone know why that might be, or how I stop it? I'm very new to this, so not sure if there's another step I need to take when trying to log in etc. Thanks!
