How to Install an Aluminum B&M Transmission Pan | 1995 Ford F150

In this video, I show you how to install a deep aluminum transmission pan from B&M. Stock transmission pans are typically made of steel and have a number of issues. Aluminum transmission pans like the one from B&M for my 4R70W transmission have several major benefits: drain plug, additional cooling benefits from extra fluid capacity, additional cooling abilities due to aluminum structure and fins, and thick flange that won't warp when you torque the pan bolts to the required 10 foot pounds of torque.

My '92's Auto trans will leak if it sits for more than a few days. Might have to consider this as a replacement!

Original pan and gasket. Has been changed four times. No warpage and no leakage . Factory gasket can be reused several times. Drop the pan. Change the filter. Clean the magnet and pan. You will be surprised at how much clutch material you'll find .

The videos are GREAT! I purchased a 94 XLT F-150 with a 5.8L SO although its slightly different still gets the juices flowing with things to do for my truck. My truck had quiet a few owners before I purchased it so fixing their mistakes or lack of care has been an issue. (misc parts broken not well taken care of). I recently ran into an issue where the old alternator went out and when replaced the new one wouldn't charge past 12.5v. It might be good to note that the Battery indicator light sends the signal to the alternator, basically when the keys turned on and you do not see that light you should know it needs to be replaced because it is burnt out. Also I may have missed it but did you put any lift or level on your truck? currently in the process I want to take the factory rack out mostly. I also noticed that my Transmission is leaking so Ill need to replace that and Im glad I saw your video about the different pan and gasket.

Very nice, Stevie. Looks very much like the same quality as my Moroso pan...and basically about the same price. I've done very well with the Moroso pan. No leaks at all since I installed it. Can't say that about any other pan I've had on my 1992 F250...including a pretty expensive Derale deep pan. Stamped steel is just not good on these large transmissions.

Steve, I've been following you since I found your videos. Here's the thing, do you Q&A somewhere on here or email? And I need to know, what you have on your truck, does it apply to my truck? We have a similar vehicle, mine is a 89 Ford F150 XLT Lariat 5.0 or 302 EFI 4WD. So is it the same? Your mods and your breakdowns and rebuild the same? Please let me know asap. I need to do some things that you cover on here like Transmission and Engine removal.

Great video man, as always! Btw I have a question for you: I have a 1985 F150 with the 302 V8 EFI and for some reason it stalls while prolonged idling after reaching operating temperature and starts to surge like its not getting fuel after turning it off and starting it back up within 30 minutes. Any idea why?
I've already replaced both front and rear fuel tanks and fuel pumps, the high pressure inline, changed the fuel filter, replaced the EGR, and changed the MAP sensor. I'm really stumped on this one and really need some help.
The truck will drive perfectly fine from cold at highway speeds but I have to leave it turned off for 30 minutes at least before I drive it again or it'll start surging for fuel.

Hey Stevie, A little off topic here but where did you get the carpeted pocket piece on the bottoms of your door panels. My 95 XL does not have them but I would love add them.
Thanks
