science facts in English short

The human eye is capable of detecting a wide range of colors, and can distinguish between approximately 10 million different hues. This remarkable ability is due to the presence of specialized cells in the retina, called cone cells, that respond to different wavelengths of light. There are three types of cone cells, each of which is sensitive to a different range of wavelengths: short (blue), medium (green), and long (red). By combining the signals from these cone cells, the brain is able to perceive a vast array of colors and shades.
