Track 1 from their sixth album “Physical Graffiti” released in 1975 copyright Swan Song Records. Swan Song was the band’s newly formed label, with their records still distributed by Atlantic. Eight new songs were recorded at Headley Grange, an English country house, in a relaxed atmosphere. The rest were outtakes from their three previous albums recorded earlier at various London studios. The album achieved Gold status soon after its release, Platinum in 1990 and 16X Platinum status in 2006. It’s widely considered their best album and creative peak and was a critical and commercial success without having any hit singles. Recorded from a pristine copy of the original vinyl. Written by Jimmy Page & Robert Plant and produced by Jimmy Page. RIP John Bonham & Peter Grant. Featuring:

Robert Plant – Lead vocals & harmonica
Jimmy Page – Slide, lead, rhythm, 12-string, acoustic and pedal steel guitars
John Paul Jones – Bass, keyboards, mandolin, acoustic guitar & string and brass arrangements
John Bonham – Drums & percussion

Ooh, yeah
Drop down, baby, let Daddy see, yeah
Drop down, Mama, where you must dream of me
Well, my Mama, allow me to fool around all night long
Well, I may look like I'm crazy, I sure know right from wrong

You see me comin', throw your man outdoor
Ain't no stranger, done been this way before
See me comin', Mama, uh, throw your man outdoor
I ain't no stranger, I been this way before

Put on your night shirt and your mornin' gown
You know by night I'm gonna shake 'em on down
Put on your night shirt, Mama, and your mornin' gown
Well, you know by night I'm sure gonna shake 'em on down
Shake it, shake it

Ooh, your custard pie, yeah, sweet and nice
When you cut it, Mama, save me a slice
Your custard pie, yeah
I declare it's sweet and nice, I like your custard pie
When you cut it, Mama, Mama, please save me a slice
Oh

I chew on a piece of your custard pie
I chew on a piece of your custard pie
I'd do anything for your custard pie
I chew on a piece of your custard pie

Drop down, drop down
Drop down, drop down
Drop down, yeah, drop down, yeah
Drop down

I chew on a piece of your custard pie

I chew on a piece of your custard pie

I adore Led Zep. But I hope that in my next life, I might actually comprehend what Robert Plant is saying,

One of Page’s best raunchiest solos, every bass player should know that burbling John Paul Jones lick, drums sound like they’re being played with tree trunks.

The lyrics are wrong! Correct published lyrics from Warner Chappell Music:

Drop down baby yes, glad to see you drop down my way.
It's cheap on me, well now I'm not lonely, I fool around all night long.
Well I may look like I'm crazy, I still know right from wrong.

See me comin' through your back door, ain't no stranger, I've been this way before.
See me comin' through your back door, I ain't no stranger, I've been this way before.

Put on your night shirt and your morning gown, you know a by now I'm gonna shake 'em on down.
Put on your night shirt Mama and your morning gown, well you know by now sure gonna shake 'em down
Shake it, shake it

Your custard pie, yeah see it at night,
when you cut it Mama, save me a slice your custard pie yeah.
I swear I'll treat her nice, (I like your custard pie).
When you cut it Mama, Mama please save me a slice.

Oh I'd do anything for your custard pie,
I'd do anything for your custard pie

repeat ad lib to fade
