I made a weather alerting APP for astrophotographers - you can use it FOR FREE

An unexpected rainfall can be deadly to your astrophotography rig if you leave it unattended in your backyard. With my weather alerting script you can stop worrying about it because you'll get notified if conditions change and you need to take your telescope inside.

To everyone that's having trouble, this script broke because an Accuweather changed their selector from "minutecast-chart" to "minute-cast-chart". When Kamil wrote this script, the selector was the former, and if you open the dist folder and open index.js with a text editor and search for "minutecast-chart" you'll find 3 instances of it. Simply change that to "minute-cast-chart" and save the index. Rerun the run.command it it will work. Cheers!

Cannot set Critical Alerts in Android as I thought this would be good. Did all you said to setup with a Windows PC.

Definitely going to try this. As you mentioned in the video and living in NZ, I find the weather changes so quickly so getting such a notification would be brilliant. I’m glad to see it can bypass the do not disturb setting. Excellent work and thanks for providing this.

I enjoy your videos!! I have a question. Just picked up a star adventure 2i. Im kinda new to all this. Do you have a video showing how to use each mode on the tracker?

You are an amazingly brilliant and humble, down to earth guy. There's a line from a Genesis song, (the rock band), "I'd rather trust a man who doesn't shout what he's found ". It's hard for most brilliant people to dumb down stuff so those without that particular skill set understand. You make me and I'm sure many other beginners, lives easier. I'm going to give this a try. I go to darker places, setup, and go back to my car while gear runs, pass out, this will save me. If only a tamper warning could be built in (would be thieves, or..) where I live you never know.

Hi Kamil, I followed your instructions to the letter (Windows 10 / iPhone 11) Everything seemed to install properly but when I run the program - Nothing! No notifications. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. Got an TimeoutError: waiting for selector `.minutecast-chart` failed: timeout 30000ms exceeded" error ...

even moisture in the air can ruin electronic, I was at one point liiking at rain cowers even for normal photo, but a plastic bag can also be used.

This is awesome, Kamil! Thanks for doing this. Quick question: If you set the script to run every 15 minutes, if it starts raining 5 minutes after your last notification, will it rain for 10 more minutes before you get the critical alert?
