The only thing too far fetched for me is Napoleon retiring after just two terms.

I’d absolutely LOVE a part 2 where you look at both of the posabilties one where Napoleon II stays in the USA and one where he returns to France bringing the Napoleon era back to Europe

I love how you integrated both of them in to American politics and how they embrace the expansionist desires the impact of this scintillating would be astonishing not just for America but the whole world

If you’re not afraid of massive swarms of butterflies, you could have Carlo Bonaparte exiled to America, resulting Napoleon being born in the 13 colonies and thus eligible.

Maybe the Midwest would end up being home to thousands of French settlers in this timeline

I'm french... and honestly, this was one of if not the best alternative scenario I have ever seen.
Not only did the graphical work and quality made it incredibly engaging as a video, but the aspects you highlighted made it realistic and extremely satisfying for me to watch as an historical scenario.
I know you want your channel to grow, so you need likes and views, but I can't express how much I NEED a sequel to this video.
And, if I may ask, maybe a deep dive in the interactions between French and English cultures due to the new dynamic of French-led anglophone country might be very interesting. Would America become bilingual ? And what about the restrictions on usage of French that were implanted after the Louisiana purchase ? Will they endure ? Or will french finally take over America and make it l'Empire Divin des Amériques and create the good ending for our world ?

But I digress, thanks for your work, and may we see someday a follow-up on this historical masterpiece.

A unified trilingual US could very easily become the dominant political and economic center much earlier than in our timeline

It's funny to see this video because today I learnt that Napoléon I grand-nephew - the grand-son of his brother - founded the FBI.

I just want to point out that Napoleon actually proposed to be sent to Washington after his defeat at Waterloo but was denied by the Coalition since they wanted him out of reach of any power
Hence why your scenario could've actually happened if the Coalition decided to be kind to him again
Btw excellent video, you won one sub and one like ;D

There’s actually a story that I know called “The Rebellion Burns Bright” that has Napoleon become President. It takes a while to get there, but in my opinion it is immensely worth it. One of the best books I’ve ever read.

I think Napoleon II would have spent so much time in America that he would identify more as an American than as French or if the people of France regarded him more as an American than as the heir to his father Napoleon I.

It should be noted that despite Mexico being in the south, the Mexican mainland was very abolitionist at the time. I’d be curious to know what the civil war would look like at the time. Would the Mexican states ally themselves with the north to fight the institution of slavery, or take advantage of the war to fight for independence

You should really do "What if the German Empire was formed in 1849" I think it would be a great video.

Amazing work as usual Videntis! My vot is for Napoleon II to stay in the US, so that his cousin Napoleon III can take the french throne and thus the 2 of them be close allies!

And suggestion: What if Napoleon II survives and he was the one to take power in france in 1848, eventually crowning himself emperor in 1852?

A little bit of an optimistic scenario tbh. Given US views on Native Americans, and his political base in the south, it seems doubtful that he would be able to support the Native Americans like the Seminoles. The Panic of 1837 also had many causes behind it, and a lack of arable land to expand to wasn’t really among them.

Given Napoleon’s action as president, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Northern-led secessionist movement. We have a man, who called himself a revolutionary until he installed himself as Emperor and betrayed French Republicanism, being uplifted by the Southern Democrats as a beacon against tyranny by the Southern Democrats, while massively centralizing power under himself and away from the states and the other two branches of government. Antagonized the Protestant faiths while supporting the Catholic Church which held official views against Republicanism. Rejected annexing Canada for fear of upsetting the balance of power, but immediately annexed the entirety of Mexico, thus ensuring that the South would remain the dominant power in the US going forward.

Add to that the Northern Elite that would be pissed by how thoroughly wrecked their business interests with the UK were and thus have reason to slander Napoleon and use all the ammunition available in the war of public opinion. It seems likely that despite Napoleon’s intentions to build a strong united America, he would instead produce a more divided America than in our timeline, and a potential split between North and South seems plausible. With all the disastrous implications for continued existence of slavery that entails.

Honestly I'd say staying in Americas makes more sense, as in this timeline he's kind of a poster boy for the American ideal, a part French, part Austrian, that immigrated to the USA and grew in prominence. Plus one would assume by now he's likely married an American or Canadian.

Britain was always worried about some land power uniting Europe against it. However, an earlier awakening of the US as a superpower in alliance with France would turn that on its head.

Considering how much Napoleon the 2nd got attached to Austria, I feel a similar thing would happen with America. Notably considering his fathers power base in the south, and Napoleon the 2nd growing up in America in this timeline he may be more pro slavery then his father which could have all sorts of implications for his political career, or at the very least soft on the issue like his father which may help see a gradual detransition of slavery instead of rapid emancipation similar to Latin Americas slow removal of slavery through freedom of the womb laws.
