I Was SCARED To Buy This...

After getting a taste of 4k glory in the Dell XPS 15, I decided it was finally time for me to go 4k. But I'm cheap AND picky... so finding the perfect monitor was a challenge.

I absolutely adore how you structure these videos. The very tight editing really helps the flow and allows you to get a lot of information out of your script instead of dragging the viewer along a long monologue like others might. And I'm also a sucker for jokes, that helps too.

For those hunting for monitors hunt in this order:
LG(top 2 best out there regularly fighting for first)
ASUS(kinda like LG though a lot more hit or misses)
Lenovo(lower end of the spectrum they give you a lot of bang for your buck)
ViewSonic(These guys have been around forever and displays are what they do, also adorable birds)
BenQ(Make some of the most color accurate consumer screens out there for under $10k but they also put out some seriously questionable stuff sometimes where you want to ask their QA if they even actually do anything all day)

Enjoyed your video. I've got 2 of these monitors I use with my HP work laptop. They get the job done, but are VERY finicky with the 2018 HP laptop. Took a lot of futzing with refresh rate and other settings to get the laptop to recognize them both as 4k at the same time. Looking forward to the day they replace my old HP with a newer Dell. Maybe that will help. Nothing flashy, but perfectly fine for MS Office and Chrome. Cheers!

I've found that the way to show the purplish/pink color in monitors that are...yeah is to take a pic of them with your cellphone
Phone sensors have a penchant for picking up stuff like that yet for some reason think it's totally fine to try and cut through any type of overcast to speak of basically nuking every picture of fog I've ever tried to take
Also protip for anyone who reads this: Get a 2K monitor, all the benefits of 4K without any of the drawbacks namely all the media you consume that isn't anywhere near big enough to fill a 4K display(your video games will thank you too)

AOC have a 200ish euro 4k monitor but the stand is not very adjustable if you care for that

I always enjoy your commentary. I cheaped out and got 27" ASUS ProArt 2K monitors for my wife and me. They don't have that nice 4K resolution but they're affordable, the color accuracy is top notch, and the bases are hell for stout.

I know it's an older video, but god damn I haven't checked if I had the output range in nvidia panel changed to full in 4 years... and it wasn't.

I used to use a 28'' HP 4K monitor that I got on sale for $200 new on amazon, needless to say it was bad, not 15 year old laptop bad, but the top was noticeably darker than the center when sitting nearly level with it. I bit the bullet and spent $250 on a 32'' 1440p 144Hz HDR LG during prime day sales, the viewing angles are great and the black levels, while great, has a tiny bit of ghosting when HDR is turned on, but I mostly notice it when in my mine in minecraft due to all the sharp edges and the fact that I play with moody brightness, but that could just as easily be something wrong with my game or some random setting that I don't even know's there.
