As a drywall finisher for 40 plus years, I like the way you use a 12" finishing box. Yes, I do agree to go over the seams twice to make sure there is no pin holes in the finish if needed to. Another thought: When I used a 8" or a 10" box- I went over the joints twice to make the finish was ready for the 12" flat finisher. Well: It's the way I was taught-so be it. Very good video- I really enjoyed it. Thz, Phil Anderson=Evansville, Indiana

Is the level 5 boxes are built to do the corners beads also? The new Columbia boxes are just curious

Looks like a cool system. I’m a good taper this just seems faster. I’m skeptical about the thickness though, I always tape at least 2’ seams to taper it well.

Do you just sheet rock 90 in the boxes or automatic taper? Or do you just use regular mud for all coats? And from what I see there is you just use the automatic taper for the first coat 10” box for the next coat and your 12” boxes for the last coat.

I have been hand Finnishing for 28 years but I’m thinking about getting in to machines. Sure would take some getting use too but I’m a one man band on the Finnishg now days and Im always looking to evolve

Your boarder seems to have gone very sparingly with the screws. What was that bullshit with not staggering butt-joints???

Great tuition my friend. I’ve literally just got my first Level 5 tools today. My mud pump has arrived waiting for the rest. Is there a Pump set up guide as mine came with zero instructions.

I personally don't like to pre sand for the finish coat because without the dust the finish gets more sticky to the wall and I been using Level 5, Columbia, tape tec, platinum and Tool pro flat box's but my favorite is definitely Level 5 . I will buy my own set high capacity 10 and 12 coming soon.

Can you use a flat box to skim coat walls with texture as an easy way to get flat smooth walls?

I'm just a one person shop that does all different types of work and so improving efficiency is import here. I find the equipment is somewhat pricey and hard to justify multiple boxes for the work I do -- For the time being could I get away with using the 10" box on a final skim coat by overlapping my fill coat as if I was using a 12" or 14" box?

I was told that sanding between passes causes the dust to keep the next layer from attaching. Can you explain this? I understand that you probably have to take the dust off but how would you do that?

I noticed when you did the ceiling you line up all your but joints. Is that for ease of operation with the box? And... I'm a remodel contractor so I don't do whole houses. I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy this system. Should I go up to a 14" box instead of the 12". I've seen other videos that say I could probably get away with just two coats. Thanks.
