2025 Citroen C4 Facelift - Modern Design and Tech Upgrades!

Citroen has been busy with the all-new C3 and facelifted Berlingo, but the Citroen C4 family hatchback hasn't been forgotten. Recently, spy shots have surfaced of an updated version of the C4, which first launched in 2020. With these images being our first look at the refreshed C4, we anticipate its launch in early 2025.

The updated C4 showcases several design changes. Despite the camouflage, we can see a new headlight unit with two horizontal daytime running lights within a larger upper cluster. Below, there is a thin separate light, similar to the new Citroen C3. The new C4 will also feature Citroen’s revised chevron badge, which may reshape the upper grille and bonnet. The lower bumper appears different from the current model, although the radar's position remains the same.

Camouflage on the lower portion of the doors hints at tweaked side cladding, known as ‘Airbumps.’ At the rear, a redesigned light cluster with two horizontal lights is visible, matching the new C3’s design. The familiar spoiler across the rear window is retained, and this particular model is an internal-combustion engine C4, indicated by the single exhaust tip.

The third-generation Citroen C4 is built on the Stellantis group’s widely-used CMP platform. Recently, Citroen introduced the Hybrid 136 and a new 54-kilowatt-hour battery with a 154-horsepower electric motor option for the e-C4. Therefore, it's unlikely we'll see additional powertrain updates. However, design tweaks could improve aerodynamic efficiency and range.

Inside, major changes are not expected. The current C4 features twin 10-inch screens, and the central touchscreen will likely get a new infotainment system. Citroen’s new logo will replace existing chevron badges throughout the interior.

The current petrol C4 starts at 19720 pounds, and the e-C4 begins at 32410 pounds. A slight price increase is expected with the facelift, though it should remain competitive given the new C3's sub-18000-pound starting price and Citroen's focus on value. Additionally, the sleeker Citroen C4 X, introduced a year after the C4, is also anticipated to receive a facelift shortly after the updated C4.

Stay tuned for more updates as Citroen prepares to bring these exciting changes to their popular C4 hatchback.

01:15 - "The familiar spoiler across the rear window is retained ...". The pictures quite clearly show that it isn't! What is false information? The script or the pictures?
01:52 - "The current C4 features twin 10-inch screens, ...". Rubbish. The current C4 has a 5½" driver's screen with a 10" infotainment screen.
