This is really solid advice. It's important that you interview the company as well when applying for roles.

I took a job in HR for a company that's been in business since 1964, but they operate like a startup company. There is so much confusion, and things are all over the place. I feel overwhelmed because there is no clear direction. Even when I ask, there still isn't any. In my first 3 weeks, I felt like I was being hated or like I was in the twilight zone.
