All these symptoms point to problems with the power steering, but before you change the actual pump or figure out which hose needs to be replaced if any, first you must figure out 🤔 the problem. To do that you need to gather these supplies 🧰:
1) Power Steering Oil (in this car it requires Pentosin 1405116 CHF 11S Hydraulic fluid)
Other cars may use a regular kind such as
or this
Check your owners manual or do a quick search to see the correct type of power steering oil you can use for your vehicle.
2) Funnel: pick this up at the Dollar Store or fold some paper up to make a funnel.
This didn't work for me but its a money back guarantee so give it a shot!
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Open the hood.
Step 2: Locate the power steering pump location and remove the cap.
Step 3: Add a tablespoon 🥄 of UV dye.
Step 4: Top up with some Power Steering fluid, and screw the cap back on.
Step 5: Have a partner turn the car on and turn the wheel hard to the right and the left for at least 4 seconds.
Step 6: While your partner is turning the wheel hard shine your UV light 🔦 which is purple on the power steering area, and look for a leak. It should shoot out green, and or you should see green somewhere on the rubber hose. This is where the leak is.
Step 7: Turn the car off, and before replacing the hose or pump try using a power steering leak repair kit to see if that seals up the leak.
Step 8: 👍 👍👍 and SUBSCRIBE 🔔 if this helped you to discover your leaking power steering hose.
ℹ️ If the power steering leak repair kit doesn't work and seal the hose from the inside like if its a high pressure power steering hose, then you'll have to repair that separately but at least you know where the problem is.
ℹ️ Likewise if the pump is bad and their are no signs of leaking then you'll have to most likely replace the power steering pump.
Usually replacing a power steering hose or the pump is not too difficult but it may take a couple hours to do, although it really does depend on the vehicle you are working on.
