Deceived in Plain Sight

Why is evil so mysterious? Why is there so much confusion regarding this question? Why is there in every culture, a theory of evil's origin, yet throughout history, only one explanation seems to be targeted? Is this subject related to Truth, and why in both objective spirituality and true scientific evidence, both seem to be under attack? Could it be that someone likes lies, and finds ways of propagating it? Why say something, and mean different things to many people? Who causes confusion? Could this have any thing to do with the arch deceiver of the world, identified in the book of revelation?
