Parliament Session LIVE: Government Introduces Waqf Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha

The Centre introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024, in the Indian Parliament today. The Bill aims to introduce major changes to the 1995 law, including the appointment of Muslim women on Waqf boards and mandatory land verification before a board can designate it as a Waqf property. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has criticised the proposed changes and called them "unacceptable", while the INDIA bloc pledged to resist any changes to the Waqf Act.

When this bill was introduced by the Parliament by majority party the then time. Hence waqf bord property should be removed from waqf board by the Parliament. One Nation one law.

By highlighting women & child protection the government is trying to enforce this bill but not discussing the misuse of power by the district authority.
