Good video Allen.

1. Can the ASHP units be at risk from being stolen if they contain valuable metals?

2. Most folk won't have the kind of money required for a full system.

3. With a bad gas boiler install it is still possible to salvage it with a flush, pipework alterations etc. Don't think you can with this without adding substantial amounts to costs. Like you say there is the potential for it to be very pricey.

My view is that hydrogen blend is the way forward. Most boilers are ready and it can run off the existing infrastructure.

Anything introduced needs to be installed in new builds first and then studied for at least 5 years to see the pros and cons.

In the interim, government grants should be made for system cleaning, powerflushes, smart controls and other energy saving measures. This will see immediate benefits.

Interesting video. I've viewed a bungalow today that requires a full renovation. I'd love to go down the ASHP route but the layout of the property is tricky. Could the tank be installed into a detached garage that is 1.5 metres from the kitchen wall? (ie there's a walkway between buildings).

Front distance is very important…you don’t want air bouncing back if there is wall close to condensing unit

Interesting stuff Allen, are there reasonable cost lay flat cylinders out of interest?

I have read that flow and return heating pipes on older houses would require at least 22 mm diameter for air source to work, and even then the results aren't great. What do you mean when you say manage customer's expectations. Not having a go, just asking.

is that the right lagging? we got told to use the PVC coated type and not to have any fittings uncovered

Great vid as usual! With the rollout of heat pumps do you think it’s still worth it becoming a gas engineer? I’ve put down a deposit for a course but I’m in two minds !! Be great to hear your feedback 👍

As allways design calculations are of the utmost priority, who actually carries the liability in the event of a miscalculation ?

how close to a road? did that not kick in yet? that is a question.

Do you also need four gas boilers in your garage too ;)

First thing to consider is air to air. Second thing is to design out the buffer.

Are you putting underfloor in as part of your refurb?

Very interesting tech but I can't realistically see them being used for mainstream heating probably work well on newbuilds. Most householder's don't want to spend more than £2k if that lol.
