'I Guess We'll Never Know' Part 2 | 2023 Texas Rangers Documentary

I Guess We'll Never Know's second installment, Melting Point, starts from the point of Nathan Eovaldi's ascension to ace status, all the way to an epic late July series in Houston in which tempers flared and ultimately set the stage for an incredible rivalry between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros. This is a continuation of the story of the 2023 Texas Rangers and their first ever title run.

If you haven't yet watched part one of this documentary, it will be linked in this video and also here in the description.

When Corey Seager said to over a half-million people in Arlington, "I guess we'll never know" it became a creed of sorts (pun intended) for the Rangers fanbase. For me, it was the spark to start making this video.

The Texas Rangers still have yet to have a proper documentary created about this team that won it all--a commonplace for teams who end up winning the fall classic over the last several years.

I suppose for now, this will have to do.

Crazy how personal Houston made it against Texas.

Heck The Rangers wanted to help them during Harvey and Houston cold shouldered them.

I was at that July 26 game in Houston. And while that doesn't sound like a wild claim, I'm a Rangers fan living in North Dakota and have only seen the Rangers, in person, in Texas a handful of times over the last 20+ years. I'll never forget the sky-high confidence from Houston fans on their pre-game radio show. And after the first inning, it became smug arrogance. When the Rangers made their comeback and eventually took over the game it turned into denial and anger, as in, how could this be happening to us?
Unfortunately, as we know, this wasn't some kinda of positive inflection point on the remainder of the Rangers' regular season as they would nearly fall off a cliff in the coming months. But that July 26 game elevated the rivalry to another level and made Houston pay attention to the Rangers for the first time in many years.

The term “complete game shutout” is redundant. You can’t record a shutout without throwing a complete game. So when I hear “complete game shutout, ” it’s like hearing someone say “no hitter perfect game.”
