MPI Rail Swap: EQT Beta to Production Version - 2019 Golf R

One of my pleasures is the opportunity to occasionally help companies test products before they go to final production. I was able to help EQT test their MPI kit almost a year before it became available for purchase. I provided some feedback, and they have incorporated those changes, as well as a few other changes I noticed.

This video covers the swap from my beta (pre-production) rail to the new production version. Also... it starts a new adventure of low-pressure fuel troubleshooting that is unrelated to the swap but was highlighted during this process. I put a few details about that at the end of this video in case you are interested.

Good to see you making Golf R videos again. If the car has been sitting that's not good when using E85 fuel. Definitely check your LPFP / HPFP for sure. If the car sits for long intervals, definitely switch to 91/94 octane gas.

was this related to the locking ring failure on your in tank fuel line?

I got unitronic's mpi for my mk8 gti. Anyway how is your water pump? Concerned since it be harder to remove the intake manifold after installing mpi.

Also how is your dsg clutch pack holding up? Is it still the original or you replaced/upgraded it?

I'm thinking the hpfp as well. They tend crap out for various reasons.

When I pulled my manifold to replace my throttle body, I depressurized my fuel system like you did and after I got everything back together, my car would run but when I tried to drive it it would lean so bad it closed the gap on a couple of my plugs, it took me a month of messing around with different things to find out that the a2b lpfp I had went bad, and for some reason after I had relieved the system of pressure the pump could no longer hold enough pressure to move or even rev it more than once or twice. Monitor your rail pressure, you might see it struggling to maintain the correct fuel pressure

Where did you purchase your European intake manifold? Do you have a part number?
