More than any other Shep episode I've heard, this one establishes that he truly was a rebel, absolutely determined to follow his own guiding star---and thank goodness he did!

As to proofreading, what Shep describes proves yet again that where 100% accuracy is crucial, we should not proofread our own work. As we all know from having done so nonetheless, our brains simply will not perceive some of our own mistakes.
