Love the idea. Looking forward to seeing the plan come to full fruition.

That is an excellent idea!

I used a simulator(American Truck Simulator) and a Logitech racing game wheel to help teach myself to drive a hostler (a brand new skill for me) since my trainers had limited time to allow me to drive due to the volume and workload at my ramp.

It really helped to be able to visualize what all the corners of the vehicle were doing in multiple dimensions(such as an overhead view).

This is some cutting edge tech with quite a bit of potential and I hope they implement it soon!

IF these trucks are driving autonomously in the field, how are the airlines being hooked up to the trailer?

Couple ideas on air lines for those of you asking one expensive route is to run air through the 5th wheel plate.
But not practical in this situation.
The other idea would be having a ground man .
Honestly this is not so far fetched.
Winterhaven ramp is automated everything but the trucks.

I'm definitely curios on how the brake air lines and 7way wire will get hooked up to any chassis in the yard? Other than that I'm very positive that technology now this days will do a great job, no more overworked nor stressed operators.

This sound good and all but in my yard in Jacksonville, we have shit trucks that goes to the mechanic damn near everyday. We need a better paved roadway first before we get any new trucks. Let’s say we’re the short stick in the ITS hierarchy. Every other yard is better then Jacksonville Florida. Current Operator for its

ITS Conglobal would have to replace all chassis in the industry in order for this to work. In addition as mentioned in a earlier post what about the airlines? Automation/remote is a great idea but isn't practical in our environment. Look at some of our terminals. Alot of what we do is only accomplished by having boots on the ground.

How would the operator know if they have a flat tire? Broken leaf spring? Bad wheel bearings? Engine knock? Loose lug nuts? Also too, robotics for air line hook up? I don’t see these trucks being productive in the field. What’s the speed of these truck on the ramp?
