I read Mr. Fox's book 'No Time Like the Future'; it's quite a poignant story, how this cameo came about, long delayed by severe health issues. Kudos to Michael J. Fox and Spike Lee for making it happen. Now I just need to watch the whole movie.

So, I have a theory...
I think that Mr Lockhart is Marty McFly. The reason he has become a science teacher is because of Doc Brown. Doc had taught him so much about science that he decided he wanted to major it in college. Later on he forgot all about Doc and the time travel business he did when he was a kid. That is until these two kids by the name of CJ Walker and Sebastian Thomas come around. CJ and Thomas do the end of the year presentation on time travel. This makes Mr Lockhart remember everything. A door that was once closed in his mind was then opened. That's why he said 'Great Scott'. It was a line his best friend used to say and then that door was opened. Everything he had once forgotten was now there.
