Where Do We Go From Here? Politics, Policy, and Our Civic Responsibility
Показать описание
On June 19, we hosted a conversation with our founder, former Congressman Dick Gephardt, on politics, policy, and our civic responsibility in the context of COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement, along with other current national issues. David Blount, Engage Democracy Fellow and MSW Candidate, moderated the discussion.
2020 has called us to deeply examine our civic responsibility - and the roles of policy and politics - in responding to the major fractures in our democracy. Amidst the COVID pandemic and Black Lives Matter movement in response to the tragic death of George Floyd and countless other Black deaths, we must reconsider how we live together as neighbors and citizens, and how to shift long-held beliefs and systems as a nation. In a few short months, we will also have the opportunity to vote in consequential elections that will reshape our country and world. Where do we go from here?
