Dafran is one of the best Overwatch players I've ever seen. If not the best. This guy has the ability to do whatever he wants. Unfortunately he was banned due to his extremely unprofessional behavior. Now he's back!

Dafran: Only player their accuracy drops when he uses attack visor.

Dafran reminds me of ballotelli. Great player for a couple seasons lost form later. No top team would have him in their team at his best even though he was good enough because of his attitude. Then when he lost form he lost fame like the catch me outside girl should have

there are actor's in hollywood that are blacklisted for being hard to work with, their is a chance that overwatch will be the same.

Attitude and personality should be considered for any job, especially when you are part of a team which is something bigger than yourself. Dafran definetley deserves a chance to show he's changed though. He is really good at the game and could comeback an even better player and teammate if he shows improvement and humility. He could very well be one of the highest paid players in the future and I wish him luck in his self improvement and landing a spot with a good team in the competitive scene.

Dafran is basiclly Overwatches version of LoL's Dardoch. Amazing player but he jumps from team to team because of his attitude and everyone is tired of his attitude but at the same time he's so talented!

To answer your question - I don't think he's getting a free pass here based on his ability. All we can do is hope he learned a valuable lesson based on his suspension, and that he can use his talents to not only improve his life, but inspire others with his play. To your analogy about the football playing primadonna, people are going to be who they're going to be regardless of what you want for them, but that's where we come in as a society to be able to forgive and reject where necessary.

You asked for our opinion, so I'm going to make a list of "For" and "Against", as well as "Things to Consider"

For:

1. He makes the pro scene more entertaining through high skill gameplay.
2. He makes a redemption story that people can cheer for, making the OW e-sports community bigger.
3. His skill will drive others to heighten theirs.
4. As a big team will most likely not hire him, so he will make a smaller team become more popular (and probably make them win more) which will make the top teams have more competition. This will make matches more interesting as right now the matches you can probably decide in advance everywhere but Korea. EnVyUs is dominating NA right now and as a fan of EnVyUs, I found myself just skipping to the end after saying, "They probably won." and being correct. Look at how much people cheered for GC Buscan.
5. Hopefully being banned will make him realize how much luck he has to be doing this job. It's not even 1 in a million, it's 1 in 30 million.
Against:

1.His actions ruined people's matches, and they probably went from "OMG I'm playing with Dafran" to "This guy is a jerk, why did I ever look up to him"
2. He seemed to show no remorse for what he did, so we may just end up with him doing the same thing.
3. Calling it "Overwatch ISIS" doesn't seem to show much maturity and is a really bad example.

Things to Consider:
1. This may have been a publicity stunt that went wrong.
2. Having that much pressure can be hard for your mental state, and he may have gotten himself back together.
3. As someone said in the comments, maybe he just wanted to get thrown off the team (credit to whoever said that, can't find you in the 2K comments)
4. Trash talking is pretty common on e-sports ("Everyone else is trash." ring any bells?) and maybe this is just one player being more of a jerk on camera. This doesn't excuse all his actions but still.

Stylosa, I think you should have emphasized more that it wasn't just Dafran throwing games, he was encouraging his stream viewers to also go into their games and throw games as well. He called them the "ISIS of OW" which was completely inappropriate at any time let alone right after the Manchester bombing. So it wasn't just his games he was ruining, he was a super viewed streamer and by him encouraging others to throw probably ruined thousands of other games as well as his. People should know all the information, when you say "it wasn't really that bad" and that "Blizzard just had to make an example of him", it sounds a bit ignorant to the severity of the situation. I'm a big fan but I completely disagree with the way you presented this. I believe Dafran should have a 2nd chance, but you have a large influence and should be presenting all the information. Not just parts of it and calling it "a mistake". He purposely did this and even after getting backlash he continued to encourage this behavior. Please Sty present all the information to the public before making a video like this.

Just sign him with a Contingency that if he’s toxic, his contract is terminated, I don’t see the risk in that, you either get a great player or you pay nothing when he’s toxic

Honestly dafran is a really nice guy. I've played with him a bunch in off-times where the matchmaking is a bit weird (4200 playing with rank 20 is a bit odd) and he was fun as fuck to play with. Even encouraged me to play rein and when i did good he personally added me to say "nice job, you did good". I know this seems biased but he always seemed like a fun nice guy.

i think in part of selfless' newsletter they said he was going through some rough things irl so maybe that was part of it? either way i hope he's given a second chance. there's nobody out there that would go from flipping burgers to becoming an esports pro and throw that all away just to mess with people.

there had to be some underlying stuff about it. i hope he feels better though because it seems like whatever he went through really messed with the poor dude

Overwatch competitive is about the best players in the world showcasing their talent and skill on the game, its not a tv show. And dafran is probably the best hitscan player in the world. He should definitely be playing again and be forgiven. But that is always be up to the team and their culture. Im excited to see him back
