I really like this movie because it did leave you guessing. I felt like this movie and how it carried itself should’ve been the way knock at the cabin, should’ve played out.

I don't really watch trailers any more. But I'll still watch reviews 😂

I moved from San Francisco to the boonies in the mountains to help my mom, where early-bird specials and bingo nights in town are the hottest events of the week. Send help!

I just left the theatre and have to admit that I liked the film a lot more than I expected to based on early reviews. I thought the acting was fantastic, but was not quite sure what I thought of the ending. A solid 3/5 for me.

I would love to have more land between me and my neighbors, but I could not live out in the boonies. I need bookstores in driving distance to make me happy and maybe a coffee shop.

Enjoyed the movie, loved the premise but wanted more explanation some way, somehow. I think the box had all the answers & it was likely lost.

I grew up in the country. I enjoy visiting, hunting, and fishing, but it's not for me to live.. I need the energy and fun that the city life gives me.

Oh I was wondering if you would do this review and you did

But why are critics destroying this movie, average ratings are very low for this movie.

I don't like people so living in the boonies is awesome.

The movie did exactly what it was supposed to do. I was questioning the mom and at on epoint looked at her as the villian. After the climax i was still questioning if the evil was real, or they were just malnourished and hallucinating. Also why the hell did the evil not go after amyone else? If the rest of the world is fine, then was it real? Who

This was great. I love the way Halle Berry played this character. We don't get much of her backstory, but she kept saying, "I used to be a different person, " and the biggest change we can see between who she used to be and who she is now is motherhood. Motherhood made her a different person, and it changed her body and mind, maybe even amplified a problem she already had. Now there is no going back and there is no cure. You see her harsh, loving, scared, sad. This just made me think about people who are suffering from something with no cure, so they lean in to their faith. I don't think the rope was to protect the kids from the world, it was to protect them from her. The rope was how she could tell them apart from her visions, the only way she knew they were real. That's why she said, "I'm the darkness." Just saw the movie a few hours ago and I'm still thinking about it. And I'm shuddering at what I think was real and what was not, and she couldn't tell because they didn't have a rope on. Such a tragic film.

I think the director pulls a "High Tension" climax. Another Aja film.

i haven't seen the movie but i think i know where it's going, there's something very metaphorical about the story

Very thoughtful review. I came up with my own backstory and who they came to be here. But it would be a spoiler.
