Donald Trump Honors Former US Attorney General Meese With Medal of Freedom

U.S. President Donald Trump presented former attorney general Edwin Meese with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian honor, Tuesday, October 8. A lawyer and former law professor, Meese served as the attorney general for U.S. President Ronald Reagan from 1985-1988.
"He was a star," Trump said. "Ed was among President Reagan's closest advisers as the administration implemented tax cuts, a dramatic defense buildup and a relentless campaign to defeat communism."
Meese was an early Trump critic who ended up supporting him and helping lead his transition team. Surrounded by family and friends in the Oval Office, the 87-year-old recalled some 30 years of working with Reagan at the state and national level and in his retirement.

It is very fitting that Trump would honor a morally challenged individual like Edwin Meese.

I applaud Meese for recieving this medal, but personally I'd refuse it on the grounds it's being placed on me by a known Criminal.
