How to insert a line in Word (e.g. horizontal line in header) in 1 MINUTE (HD 2020)
Показать описание
You are asking yourself how to insert a line in Word? That's quite easy! In this tutorial I am going to show you how to insert a horizontal line in the header in Word but of course this also works for vertical lines in the text.
Procedure:
To activate the header we first double click in it. Then we click in the text, go to the "Home" tab and in the "Paragraph" section we have a button called "Borders". When we click on the arrow which is placed to the right of the button, then we can choose the orientation (e.g. horizontal) and position (e.g. above the text) of that line. And that is it. Now you successfully insert a horizontal line in Word.
Why all that?
In documents with multiple chapters (e.g. a thesis) it is nice to have the chapter title in the header. To visually separate that title from the content, a horizontal line is ideal.
This tutorial for adding a #line in #Word should work for Word 2007, Word 2010, Word 2013, Word 2016, Word 2019 and also Office 365. This also works with Microsoft Office on a Mac and also with open source software such as OpenOffice or LibreOffice.
