This video presents the tour of ancient Matera city in the Basilicata region of Italy. It's more than 9000 years old city. It's famous for it's rock-cut cave houses. This city was called as "shame of Italy" due to it's extreme poverty till 1950. Italian government then forced the residents out of their caves and shifted them to modern accomodation outside.
