I started with a few Poland Culture reaction videos, then did some Poland History Reaction videos and I am doing now also Poland Comedy Reaction videos.I was impressed by the Polish Army in comparison to the German Army. And maybe want to do a Polish Rap Reaction in the future. I love to react to poland and do polish music reaction videos. I already did an unconquered reaction.

Check out the Sabaton History channel where historian and documentarian Indy Neidell and a band member go into detail about the story behind the song. In this case, less than 1000 Polish soldiers who held off 40, 000 German troops for three days. (thus the title 40:1)

The song tells about a historical episode of the Polish-German war in September 1939, which is called the Battle of Wizna. Indeed, the Polish forces were much weaker, there were 40 German soldiers for every Polish soldier. The Polish forces lasted 3 days, and the commanding captain, Raginis (which, by the way, is a Lithuanian surname) committed suicide not wanting to be taken prisoner. The German side was commanded by the legendary armor specialist - General Heinz Guderian. That's why in our national mythology we call it "Polish Thermopylae"
Here's a quote from Wikipedia.

If you want to hear their songs about polish history you must hear :
Winged hussars
Uprising
Inmate 4859
Aces in exile
And maybe if you find it... there is a version of this song where Joakim sings it in polish

Sabaton singing about true history from september 1939. It's about battle near WIZNA river. 700 polish soliders defended 3 days against 42.000 hitler's german soliders, tanks and Luftwaffe. For 1 dead Polish solider goes 40 Germans soliders and then they singing "40:1"

From Sabaton react to Winged Hussars (where the meme "And the Winged Hussars Arrived" comes from) and Uprising (about the largest civilian struggle against the Nazis), but it's best if you watch them together with Sabaton History about those songs.

You should react to their sabaton history channel they go in depth about the history and a little about the song itself This song is about the battle of wizna where 720 polish soldiers (with no real anti tank equipment) held out for 3 days against the german army 40, 000 strong with air support and hundreds of tanks captain reginis said he would face his fate there and after 3 days he ordered his men to surrender after running out of ammo but true to his word captain reginis killed himself by clutching a grenade in his command bunker

Sabaton - Uprising is also a great song about the Warsaw Uprising, but the video is heartbreaking. Watch at your own risk 😁

I love Sabaton. Their songs can often move you, especially when I listen to songs about Poland, it brings a small tear to my eye. (I'm a very sensitive person)

This is my favorite band that I also grew up listening too. They have songs about war etc for so many countries its crazy and they are teaching us history through music and thats it. They have some songs about Germany too ofc because of WW1 and WW2. You can check out their song "Wehrmacht", "The Red Baron" or "Hearts of Iron" for example. I think Hearts of Iron is interesting because its about the end of the war in Germany but "The Red Baron" has a great animated history video together with the song so that might be a good one as well.

The best version of this song is (according to me) the one from 2012 Woodstock Poland.

Just one tip: if You make reaction to a song next time, remember that the automatic translations of lyrics are completely wrong. For instance here - in 7:03 - in Polish version of automatically generated subtitles - it's completely absurd translation: "no worries can enter into this life, protected by fish, unless they have 40 to 1" (the rest is similar). So the lyrics should be checked earlier, for instance at some special websites with translations of song lyrics. It's like translations of a poem - it just cannot be done automatically.
