In this video I set out to take a photo of a beautiful spiral galaxy called M63, the sunflower galaxy.
I shoot from a bortle 7 zone so broadband targets are always challenging, but I feel that this turned out well since I managed to get a decent amount of integration time on it!

My equipment used in this video is -
Skywatcher EQ6 pro mount
ZWO ASI2600MC Pro
Baader uv/ir cut filter
Skywatcher Esprit 120ed Super Apo Triplet + matched field flattener

Hey Luke, thanks so much for the shout out, I was really touched by that! cheers mate :) I honestly think more astro channels will feature you, not just me. You're a really likeable chap who isn't afraid of being themselves in front of the camera and that's really endearing. Personally I'm always very impressed when someone can convey their passion for astronomy and astrophotography not only by the images they produce, but also by the words they speak. As for your M63 Sunflower galaxy, I think you did an amazing job of processing it as you were literally imaging through thin cloud! p.s Galaxies are my favourite objects out there in space. As well as being incredibly stunning to look at, it's the possibility of what could be happening within these galaxies when we're such a small speck of dust within our own galaxy and there's so much going on here on Earth! imaging galaxies always gets me thinking :)

Hi Luke, love how you put 1 leg down in the right place then pivot to the other foot locations. I do exactly the same, saves a lot of time leveling and aligning. I have 3 black dots on the patio. Happy days.

Good video Luke, Sunflower Galaxy looks great, love the colours. I wish I could carry out my gear in one go, I have to set up each time half mile down the road! That’s a pain, but worth it, plus I get to be by myself with the stars, it’s not just about taking pictures!
