Oberheim TEO-5 does Tangerine Tones

First improvisation with the TEO-5 in the mix. The only sequencer used is the one in the TEO. I know it's the same sequence I always do and there are some bum notes... I don't explore all the possibilities when I get a new synth; I just tweak to get a good sound and play...

I thought my TEO-5 had a tuning fault on one oscillator so my replacement is arriving tomorrow from the excellent Anderton's of Guildford who are celebrating 60 years of musical retail. The tuning fault was also apparent on the replacement so I considered the retune options. Apparently one voice card is nearer the power supply so warms up and gets out of tune occasionally. Is this a design fault? After a few days I didn't notice any tuning problem - I think the OS learns what might happen in your environment and makes adjustments before a detune happens in the future....I love this synth, it sounds great!! and VCOs do sound better than DCOs!

That sound of little "random electric squiggles" that fly away at 3:48 what are you using there? I remember the exact sound somewhere in the Blade Runner soundtrack!

Shame I don't currently have room for a TEO 5 but the sequence alone sold me on one. It has better vibes than my Pro 3, the P3 has a great sequencer, just that there are idiosyncrasies with the P3 that make me shy away from using it.
If you try to use it as a master and sequence other gear, as soon as you touch the filter knob, things get really messy and there is a not loss of sync, but it feels like the timing is altered, so for live stuff like what you're doing, the P3 is useless for driving other gear.
The whole point is the filter, so the TEO 5 wins in this case hands down and it sounds brilliant.

The TEO-5 may have some tuning glitches as it gets used to your environment but eventually it gets to acclimatise and behaves.

The pads on the Nord (is it an A1?) sound glorious. Are you using a Smallstone phaser, or other external effects? It sounds perfect. Want.

The flute needs a little bit more effect, to fuse better into the other sounds, I think.
